John began his career as a general manager in the NHS joining the national management training scheme and then working in various management posts in his twenties at Guy’s and St Thomas’ teaching hospital, Wandsworth Community Health Trust and latterly Dorset Health Authority. In his thirties he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers working in the Public and Government Services division where he established a consulting practice that specialised in working with public sector bodies to create significant performance breakthroughs. Latterly, he was a Director at niche leadership consultancy, Future Considerations before establishing Living Leadership.
John’s passion is learning. In his consulting work this gets expressed as helping people discover and fully express their potential, build partnerships with others, and create vibrant, effective, purposeful and sustainable organisational systems.
John’s formal education has included:

- Master’s degrees in Health Planning and Financing (London School of Economics)
- Change Agent Skills and Strategies (Surrey University)
John’s greatest source of learning has been in his family. His own birth family and now as a father himself, of three children: Benedict, Dominic and Iona and as a partner to his wife, Jane. They live in Brighton & Hove in England.
